Al-mustapha’s Video Fails To Indict Ige, Adesanya, Others

His statement followed the playing of a video tape showing some Yoruba leaders- Late Abraham Adesanya, late Bola Ige and Ayo Opadokun addressing the media men after a meeting with Gen. Abubakar who was Head of State. The video did not, however, show the Yoruba leaders collecting bribe as alleged by al-Mustapha on Tuesaday.
Major Al-Mustapha who is facing trial for alleged murder of Chief Abiola’s wife, Kudirat, had told the court in his evidence-in-chief last Monday that former head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar withdrew huge sums of money from the Central Bank of Nigeria to ‘settle’ Yoruba leaders in order to douse the tension that gripped the South West following the death of Chief Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election on June 7, 1998. He had boasted that he had some video tapes to back his claim that South West leaders were compromised.

So after all the noise, Mustapha's video failed to show what he promised it would show. Now I know some people (you know yourselves) would say the video had been edited. If the video was edited, Mustapha was in court and would have raised an alarm, so we can conclude that the video wasn't tampered with. Mustapha is on trial for the murder of Kudirat Abiola but he has hasn't help his case with any revelation concerning this murder. He has diverted attention away from the murder trial and the nation fell for it.
The suspicious aspect is that Mustapha is no longer talking about the "bribe" video. He has now jumped on Nuhu Ribadu and how Nuhu wanted him killed. From Nuhu, he jumped to another story about how Abdulsalami pushed for the execution of Obasanjo. What else is this drowning man going to talk about before answering his murder charge? Isn't someone accused of murder supposed to be trying hard to vindicate himself and stop beating about the bush? Obviously this whole thing is a circus to him and he wants his name to stay in Nigerians' memories before he meets his inevitable fate.
Now is it possible that some Yoruba elders took bribe? Yes. But one thing that's certain is that Bola Ige isn't one of them. See Mustapha's letter to Bola Ige below.
